Opelousas General Health System was the recipient today of a donation from Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Epsilon Alpha Sigma Chapter, and Philo affiliate. In honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, the sorority donated 56 infant caps to the Obstetrics Unit. Projects such as tutoring and mentoring children, painting schools and senior centers, delivering meals, and building homes are examples of the types of projects that hundreds of Americans provide each year on this national day of service.

“We are very appreciative of the kindness and thoughtfulness given to our youngest patients by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority,” said Pamela Major, Clinical Director of Women & Child Services.
