Morrow, Morrow, Ryan, Bassett, & Haik Law Firm have announced the 2026-2027 scholarship application process is open. Scholarships are based on academic background (must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA), maturity of the applicant, financial need, community involvement, the availability of resources, funding, and the applicant's chosen career field. Applicants must be permanent residents of St. Landry or Evangeline Parish. “Our goal is to continue to provide these scholarships for many years to come. St. Landry and Evangeline Parishes have bright students, and we are pleased to be able to support them as they begin their next step in their education,” said Pat Morrow, Senior Partner at MMRBH.
These scholarships are awarded as a one-time award for the 2026-2027 school year. Scholarship amounts and guidelines are set by the MMRBH Scholarship Committee and may be adjusted on an annual basis. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the educational institution the applicant is attending. Applicants must be attending an educational institution/college in the state of Louisiana and can apply during any portion of their educational career (i.e., undergraduate, graduate, professional school, etc). Applicants can be current TOPS recipients.
The OGHS Foundation administers this scholarship program.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic background, probability
of graduation, maturity, financial status, availability of resources,
and the needs of Opelousas General Health System. The amount of the scholarship
will vary with each recipient based on the number of applicants, the amount
of funding available, and your chosen field.
Students who are eligible to receive TOPS will not qualify for this scholarship.
Applications must be submitted with two letters of recommendation. Scholarships will be awarded in May. The deadline to submit this application is March 6, 2026.

All applications will be considered without regard to race, sex, national origin, age, ability, or veteran status. Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Selection Committee, and the top candidates will be interviewed by the committee. The final decision is not subject to appeal.
