Hall of Fame Inductees Announced

Gina Bradley Tuttle, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, announced today that five individuals have been selected to be inducted as the first members of the Opelousas General Health System Hall of Fame. These individuals will be recognized and honored during a special ceremony culminating our year-long 60th anniversary celebration. The first annual Hall of Fame Gala is scheduled for Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Wolff Hall in Washington, LA.

The inductees selected include Dr. Charles Bertrand, Pediatrician and the following posthumous inductees:

  • Mr. Wayne Gilmore, past Chairman of the Board of Trustees
  • Dr. Gerald Posner, OB/GYN and Anesthesiologist
  • Mr. Garland “Captain” Roberts, Director of Environmental Services
  • Ms. Alzada Spraggins, Registered Nurse

The inductees were selected by a special committee of the Board of Trustees from many nominations received from employees and the community.

“Through their dedication and commitment to our hospital and to our patients, these individuals have exemplified our mission of providing the highest quality of care. We are pleased to honor these very special individuals who have given so much of themselves to OGHS”, said Ms. Tuttle
