Paint the Town Pink

"True Heroes Fight Breast Cancer"

In 2008, Opelousas General Health System started the "Paint The Town Pink" initiative, a program promoting Breast Cancer Awareness, breast cancer education and free mammograms for eligible men and women in our community.
Below are the activities planned for this year's program. If you or your business would like support this initiative and become a sponsor, click on the "Paint The Town Pink" sponsorship link for more information.

Why do we paint the town PINK in our community?

St. Landry Parish is above the national average for mammography screenings due to availability and access to annual screenings and testing provided by Paint the Town Pink!

That's why we can make a difference!

In Louisiana, it is predicted that there will be 3,770 new invasive female breast cancer cases in 2019.
In the US, it is predicted that there will be 268,600 new invasive breast cancer cases diagnosed in 2019.
In a 5 year period, 22% of the patients diagnosed with cancer at OGHS were breast cancer patients.

Opelousas General Health System is gearing up for our Paint the Town Pink (PTTP) Campaign.
PTTP is an initiative that originated in 2008, which was created to provide community education about breast cancer and to provide free mammograms, ultrasounds and readings for women and men in our community who qualify.
The overwhelming success of this program is directly attributed to the support that we received from sponsors like you and from our community and business leaders.
Thank you for your continuous support of PTTP! We look forward to working with our new sponsors in .

Due to the overwhelming support of Paint the Town Pink, there are now more sponsorship options! Thank you for the 12 years of helping OGHS Foundation Paint the Town Pink!

Sponsorship Deadline is Friday, August 30,2019
