APLICOR 3D

Opelousas General Health System is proud to be the first in Louisiana to offer APLICOR 3D, a cutting-edge 3D printing technology that uses your body’s own body fat to create a customized wound graft.

3D-Printed Grafts Customized to Your Wound

APLICOR 3D is an advanced wound care treatment that combines medical imaging, 3D printing, and your own fat cells to create a patch designed specifically for your wound. The whole process takes about 60-90 minutes.

Benefits of Aplicor 3D

Grafts are tailor-made to fit your wound with the latest in wound-healing technology. Using your own tissue reduces rejection risks and can help with diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, pressure injuries, and other hard-to-heal wounds.

The APLICOR 3D Process (following wound debridement)

Using a tablet, your care team takes photos of your wound to detect precise measurements and determine the volume of fat needed.

The patient’s own fat is obtained via liposuction.

The fat is processed into “bio ink.”

The bio ink is inserted into the 3D printer to make a personalized graft unique to the patient.

The graft is placed on the wound and covered with non-stick dressing. The healing process begins immediately!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is APLICOR 3D painful?
Most patients report little to no discomfort as compared to traditional wound treatments.

How long does the procedure take?
Approximately 60-90 minutes for the entire process.

How many treatments will I need?
Just one! Stop spending hours week after week driving to wound care centers. Eligible patients can receive treatment one time, with more amendable post-procedure guidelines and improved compliance.

Is the treatment safe?
Yes! Hundreds of cases in multiple countries have realized the power of personal regenerative medicine. Because APLICOR 3D uses the patient’s own cells, the risk of rejections is minimal. The procedure is performed by trained clinical staff in a sterile hospital environment.

How is this different from regular wound grafts?
Traditional grafts often use donor or synthetic materials. APLICOR 3D creates a custom graft using the patient’s own fat tissue printed to the specific size and shape of the wound.

What types of wounds qualify for APLICOR 3D?
APLICOR 3D can help patients with Diabetic Foot Ulcers, Venous Stasis Ulcers, Pressure Ulcers, Mohs Procedures, Burns (2nd degree) and Trauma.
