Opelousas General Health System Foundation Now Accepting Applications for 7th SPICE Employee Giving Program

The Opelousas General Health System Foundation is preparing to begin its 7th S.P.I.C.E (Special People in a Caring Environment) campaign.  S.P.I.C.E. is the Opelousas General Health System's employee giving program.  Because our employees genuinely care about our community, our patients, and each other, they have raised over one million dollars through S.P.I.C.E. in the past 17 years.  These funds have been utilized to support local non-profit organizations, fellow employees in need, and hospital projects. As a result of a very successful 6th Campaign, S.P.I.C.E donated $100,000 toward the purchase of a state-of-the-art 3-D Tomosynthesis Mammography Unit for the Posner Center.

A new S.P.I.C.E. campaign is developed every three years and new non-profit organizations are selected to support financially.  We are accepting applications from the non-profit (501c3) partners in St. Landry Parish for our 7th campaign.  Please see the link below to access the application.   The S.P.I.C.E. committee will review all applications.  You may be asked to provide a brief presentation about your non-profit organization.  The S.P.I.C.E. committee makes the final selections.  Submitting your application does not guarantee funding. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, May 3, 2024. 

Employee donations over the three-year S.P.I.C.E. campaign fund the selected projects and organizations. The campaign begins on September 1, 2024, and ends on August 31, 2027. Disbursements are made annually after September, and year-one disbursements will be made in the fall of 2025.

In your application, please provide the reason for your request and the total dollar amount. We also ask that you explain how you will promote the OGHS Foundation and S.P.I.C.E. through sponsorship, marketing, signage, etc. We will help promote your organization as our 7th S.P.I.C.E. campaign partner.

Actual donation amounts are based on dollars raised within the first, second, and third year and may differ yearly depending on the funds raised that year.  If your organization receives a donation, you will be notified of the amount annually.
