OGHS and Family Strong Foundation Host Men's Health Summit

In recognition of National Men’s Health Month, Opelousas General Health System and Family Strong Foundation will host a Men’s Health Summit on Saturday, June 24, 2017.

From 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Opelousas General Health System’s South Campus, several healthcare organizations will be on hand to offer health information and screenings. PSA screenings will be offered for $15. This test screens men for prostate cancer. Several local physicians are scheduled to speak on various health topics:

9:30 a.m. - Dr. Kerry Thibodeaux, General and Vascular Surgeon

“Diabetes and Wound Treatment”

10:00 a.m. - Dr. John Vallee, Urologist

“PSA Testing”

11:00 a.m. - Dr. Tiffany Liu, Neurologist

“Stroke Awareness”

11:30 a.m. - Dr. David Homan, Interventional Cardiologist

“The Importance of Wellness for Cardiac Health in Men”

Author Dewayne Williams, of the book “Infidelity: Roots of a Broken Man” and special guest, Dustin Miller, Louisiana State Representative will also be in attendance.

This event is co-sponsored by St. Landry Professionals, United Healthcare and Louisiana Healthcare Connections.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Pre-registration is not required. Everyone is invited to attend.
