The OGHS Foundation and Morrow, Morrow, Ryan, Bassett and Haik Announce 2018 Scholarship Recipients

OGHS foundation scholarship recipientsThe OGHS Foundation and Morrow, Morrow, Ryan, Bassett and Haik held a reception on June 5, 2018 recognizing and honoring this year’s scholarship recipients.

The OGHS Foundation announced the funding of eight scholarships to St. Landry Parish students pursuing degrees in healthcare. The recipients of these scholarships are as follows:

  • Taylor Bellard pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Nursing at ULL
  • Yakita Cane, pursuing an Associate Degree in Nursing at LSUE
  • Erica Granger, pursuing a Master of Sciences Degree in Nursing at Southern University.
  • Christina Guillory, pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Nursing at ULL
  • Saronia Manuel, pursuing a Master of Sciences Degree in Nursing at Southern University
  • Travis Rami, pursuing a Master of Sciences Degree in Nursing at Southern University
  • Kimberly Richard, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration at ULL
  • Chelsea Vidrine, pursuing a Master of Business Administration Degree with a certification in Healthcare Administration at ULL.

These eight students, through their hard work and dedication in pursuing their higher education goals, will receive a cumulative amount of nearly $33,000 in scholarship funding.

The Law Firm of Morrow, Morrow, Ryan, Bassett, and Haik also announced the funding of fifteen scholarships. The recipients of these scholarships are as follows:

  • Olivia Adams pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Biology at ULL
  • Harley Bellard pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Education at ULL
  • Heidi Bieber pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities and Social Services from LSU in Baton Rouge
  • Lauren Brisco pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts &Sciences at Northwestern University
  • William Champagne pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Biology from LSU Baton Rouge
  • Megan Fontenot pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Nursing from ULL
  • Dreu Fontenot pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from ULL
  • Taylor Guillory pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Pre-Pharmacy from LSU Baton Rouge
  • Hannah Johnson pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Nursing from ULL
  • Emily Kelly pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Education at ULL
  • David Labbe pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Kinesiology/Pre-Dental from LSU Baton Rouge
  • Abigail Lahaye pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Petroleum Engineering from ULL
  • Kristin Miller pursing an Associate of Sciences degree in Nursing
  • Breanna Newell pursuing a Bachelors of Sciences degree in Radiologic Sciences from McNeese State University
  • Peyton Vidrine pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Biology at ULL

The MMRBH scholarships were awarded based on academic background, maturity of the applicant, financial need, community involvement, the availability of resources, funding and the applicants’ chosen career field. Recipients are residents of St. Landry or Evangeline Parish. These fifteen scholarships were awarded as a one-time award of $2,500 for this coming school year.
