Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) will begin offering telecardiology services at Allen Parish Hospital in Kinder. This is CIS’s 8th telecardiology program to date.

These services will allow patients to receive world-class cardiology care without leaving their community. CIS telecardiologists will offer 24/7 coverage for cardiology consults, both in the emergency department and on the department floor. This improved access to care is made possible through the co-management agreement between CIS and Opelousas General Health System.

CIS telecardiology services allow patients to stay close to home and receive cardiac evaluations that are typically only available at large facilities,” explained Dr. David Homan, interventional cardiologist at CIS. “Patients, families, and hospitals all benefit by keeping patients in their communities for their medical care—and telecardiology allows us to accomplish that goal.
