OGHS Foundation

The OGHS Foundation, a charitable organization, was established in 2005 to support the mission of Opelousas General Health System and commitment to care through financial stewardship, resource development and promoting community health. The Foundation supports our community, our patients and our employees.

  • OGHS Foundation

    OGHS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that exists to support the vision of Opelousas General Health System. It provides the opportunity for the hospital family and the community to support OGHS through increased community understanding and support. Together they share an interest in supporting healthcare and the work being done at OGHS.

  • Fund Raising Divisions

    In addition to the Employee Giving division, OGHS Foundation is organized into five other major fund raising divisions: Annual Gifts, Planned Gifts, Business and Industry Gifts. Special Gifts and Signature Gifts each chaired by a highly respected volunteer leader in the community. All of these support Opelousas General Health System's effort to enhance healthcare in our community.

    All prior fundraising events for outside organizations have been discontinued. We have combined all fundraising for these organizations into our employee giving campaign.

What does the Opelousas General Health System Foundation do?

We Fight Against Breast Cancer

For 13 years, Paint the Town Pink has raised dollars to insure that the uninsured and underinsured have accessibility to mammograms and screenings. St. Landry parish is now above the national average for accessibility to mammograms.

We Honor Those That Have Made an Impact

The Hall of Fame Gala honors past physicians, board members and employees that have made a significant impact to the health system through impacting the community, patients and employees.

We Provide Scholarships to Students in Our Community

The OGHS Foundation Golf Tournament raises funds to provide scholarships to students in St. Landry and Evangeline Parish. In the past 13 years over 100 students have received scholarships.

We Support Out Community and Our Employees

SPICE is the employee giving program of Opelousas General Health System. Through SPIC OGHS employees have raised over $1,000,000 to support local non-profits, our employees during a time of need and a hospital project.

We Work to Build a Healthier Community

Healthy St. Landry is a collaboration of organizations and community stakeholders that work together to create a healthier St. Landry for all. Healthy St. Landry aims to improve St. Landry's community health ranking and increase the communities awareness, knowledge and capacity to improve health outcomes.
