Paint The Town Pink
In conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Opelousas General Health System will again “Paint the Town Pink” during the month of October. Along with many events planned for the entire month of October, we are asking our community to help us “Paint The Town Pink” and join us in supporting Breast Cancer Awareness by wearing a "Paint The Town Pink" t-shirt or something pink every Friday in October.
In 2008, Opelousas General Health System received its first grant from the Acadiana Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. This grant helped start our “Paint The Town Pink” program. Opelousas General Health System is proud to announce that this year we are again the recipients of a $50,000 grant. This grant will help us to continue providing breast cancer awareness, education, no-cost mammograms and ultrasounds for eligible men and women in our community. The great success of this program can be attributed to the overwhelming support from our community and business leaders.
