Orthopedic Unit


The Orthopedic Unit at Opelousas General Health System specializes in treating complex orthopedic traumas in a state-of-the-art setting. Orthopedic Surgery includes the preservation and restoration of the form and function of the extremities, spine and associated structures. Located on the 6th floor of the North Wing, on the Main Campus, the 18-bed unit is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All patient rooms are private and comfortably furnished including flat screen TV's, computerized medication delivery and stat-of-the-art orthopedic beds. Some of the areas of specialty include bone infection, reconstructive surgery, joint fractures and replacement, trauma and other comprehensive procedures. Our specialized staff is trained in orthopedic care and carries the experience you would expect from a regional health system.
