You can play a pivotal role in providing excellent patient care and administrative support to our team! Opelousas General Health System has an immediate opening for an RN with prior charge nurse or nurse manager experience in the Medical-Surgical specialty. Our Medical-Surgical Department provides care to patients with multiple medical conditions, including pneumonia, diabetes, congestive heart failure, renal problems, post-op joint replacements, and more. The UC/RN candidate will be responsible for shift operations and staffing. He/she has a primary role in performance improvement. The UC/RN is an advocate for patient care and resource to clinical and non-clinical nursing staff. The UC/RN acts as a liaison between medical staff and patient outcomes. Responsible for shift staffing and scheduling. Plays a proactive role in maintaining unit safety for patients, guest, and staff. A qualified candidate must be highly attentive to patients and clinical outcomes. He/she must have the ability to act independently in planning and implementing those activities essential to patient care and department operation. A qualified candidate will possess a current license to practice as an RN in the State of Louisiana. Experience is a must. BSN preferred; ADN graduates with exceptional leadership experience will be highly considered. Certifications include CPR, ACLS, and PALS.
