OPELOUSAS SURGEON PUBLISHED IN INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL FOR WOUND CARE
Opelousas, LA--- A case series article written by Kerry T. Thibodeaux, MD FACS, Medical Director of The Wound Treatment Center at Opelousas General Health System, was published in the October 2010 volume of “WOUNDS,” an international compendium of clinical research and practice of wound care.
The published case series, entitled “Sepaderm for the Management of Acute and Chronic Wounds,” was co-authored by S. William Tam, PhD, of Dover, Massachusetts, and originally presented in poster form at the annual Symposium for Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) meeting in Florida in April of this year. The article is the first published case series utilizing a revolutionary wound dressing technology called Sepaderm. Thibodeaux and The Wound Treatment Center at Opelousas General Health System were selected by the product’s manufacturer to spearhead the introduction of this technology into the market. Dr. Thibodeaux and The Wound Treatment Center are engaged in on-going clinical studies of this and other emerging advanced wound care technologies.
The Wound Treatment Center, located on the third floor of Opelousas General Health System, is a multi-specialty wound care clinic dedicated to the treatment of a wide variety of wound problems and is a nationally recognized center of excellence in the field of wound care.
Thibodeaux, who also maintains a private general and vascular surgical practice in Opelousas, helped found the center in 1993 and serves as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of “WOUNDS.”
