SENIOR COMPANIONS RECEIVE ANNUAL PHYSICALS

August 12, 2011, Opelousas, LA. Opelousas General Health System saw over 85 seniors in the Emergency Department at South Campus recently during their annual physicals. OGHS has provided this complimentary service for over 10 years. The Senior Companions who work in the hospital, nursing homes and in the homes were on site to complete their physical exam. This is one of the requirements for eligibility to become a Senior Companion. The primary job of a companion is to sit with sick and elderly patients. In the homes, some light housekeeping is required. For more information on the Senior Companion Program, Contact Community Action at 948-3651.
